In this time of the year, when all Christians around the world are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, and are afraid from possible Islamic terrorist attacks on their way home, it is worth sharing few words on how the Bible predicted this eternal conflict between these two big religions. We are not going to talk about the Islamic religion and its radical form, we will leave that to the sociologists and politicians. We just going to share a small piece from the Genesis and the Bible which will explain you lots of things.
Exactly in these books, we the children of Abram, we are blessed with endless hostilities. Let us show you the unbelievable power of the Holy Bible and how it predicted what is happening even today.
Sara, the wife of Abram was unable to give birth to a child. After waiting many years, Sarah convinced Abram to sleep with her handmaiden, Hagar, to produce an heir. Hagar became pregnant, and tension arose between the two women. Sarah complained to Abram, and after he approved, Sarah expelled Hagar from their house.
At the fountain on the way to Shur, Jehovah’s angel found Hagar and told her:
(16.09)Return to your mistress, and submit to her. The angel of the Lord also said: (16.10) I will so greatly multiply your offspring that they cannot be counted for multitude. And the angel of the Lord said to her: Now you have conceived and shall bear a son; you shall call him Ishmael. (16.12) He shall be a wild ass of a man, with his hand against everyone, and everyone’s hand against him;and he shall live at odds with all his kin.
The maid, Hagar, goes back to Abram and gives birth to Ishmael who is one of the Islam creators and is regarded as a prophet and an ancestor to Muhammad.
Does this sound familiar from somewhere? Can you recognize today’s situation in those words?
Sarah became pregnant at the age of ninety and gave birth to Isaac who is an ancestor to Jesus and when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him:
“I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless. And I will make my covenant between me and you, and will make you exceedingly numerous. You shall be the ancestor of a multitude of nations. No longer shall your name be Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you the ancestor of a multitude of nations. Will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. will establish my covenant between me and you, and your offspring after you throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you.”
This is who we Christians and Muslims are, sons of Abraham, ancestors of Isаac an Ismail – fighting each other even today.
